Timeless Elegance: Crafting a Unique Bracelet From Vintage Wristwatch Dials

In a world that constantly races against the clock, we often overlook the beauty of timepieces themselves. Our project, “Timeless Elegance,” aims to capture the essence of time by transforming vintage wristwatch dials into a stunning bracelet. This unique piece not only tells the story of different eras but also serves as a wearable art form. Inspired by the “Making Time Contest” by Autodesk Instructables, we set out to blend creativity with the intricacies of timekeeping, showcasing the charm of classic watches in a modern, stylish accessory.

• 5 Watch Faces (collected from pawnshop)
• Pliers
• Tweezers

• Bracelet Chains and Pins

Collect 5-6 ladies' wristwatches with small faces. In the 70s, 80s, and 90s, these types of watches were commonly worn by women in various parts of the world, including my country, India. If you don't find enough pieces at home, try sourcing them from a local watch repair shop or a pawnshop. Ensure the watches are working, or get them repaired at the shop if needed.

• Use a small tool or pin pusher to push the pins out from the links. Be gentle to avoid bending or damaging the pins.
• Use a small screwdriver to carefully remove the screws or pry open the belts of the watch.
• Once the belts are off, gently attach the lug pins. Be cautious to avoid damaging the internal components.
• Be careful not to scratch or damage the watch face or chain.

•  Place the ring inside the lug pins without adhesive to check the fit. Adjust the positioning as needed to ensure it sits correctly.
• Carefully place the ring into the watch, ensuring it is centered and aligned correctly.
• Press the ring firmly into place and interlink all the pieces of watches with each-other.

• Try on the bracelet to check for fit and comfort. Make sure the clock face is centered and the bracelet is not too tight or loose.
• If necessary, adjust the positioning of the beads, charms, or clock face for better fit and appearance.
• Ensure all elements are firmly attached and secure.
