Have you been wondering ‘how to build a robot?’ With DreamKit, building Robots can be as easy as pie.

It doesn't matter if you've been fascinated by robots for a long time or you've just discovered this beautiful world of robotics, either way, we have got your back. We will have answers to all your questions. So, are you ready to kick-start?

Things Required

1. Dream Kit

2. Cardboard

3. Bamboo skewer

4. Chart Paper

5. Marker

6. A pair of scissors

7. Android phone with Arduino Bluetooth RC Car mobile application

How It Works

We have a motor driver module to control the motor direction as per the instructions from bluetooth app. In simple words, it listens to the commands from the Arduino Bluetooth RC Car app. Why and how does it listen? Let’s see.

In the beginning, we will pair the Arduino Bluetooth RC Car app with the bluetooth of the Dream Kit Hub. This way the app can send data to the Hub which can guide the robot about the change in directions. All you’ll have to do is program the motor driver module and upload it to the Hub! Is it all too much to grasp? Don’t worry, we’ll get it easier for you. Follow the instruction carefully, and you build your robot in less than 10 minutes!

Let’s create a base for the bot. Pick a cardboard and cut out a rectangle. Refer to the image of the bot to cut the slots so as to fit in the wheels perfectly.

Take a Cardboard Sheet and Cut 3 Circles Out of It for the Wheels. Stick Chart Paper on the Wheels.

The Front Wheel

Connect the wheel to the motor and fix it into the slot. Rear wheels: Firstly, pair the wheels using a wooden skewer and fix this pair into the slots in the cardboard. The wooden skewer will act as an axle. Fold a rectangular piece of paper over the axle and tape the paper. Make sure the paper is not too tight over the axle.

Connect the Motor Driver to the Pololu Motor and Place Them at the Bottom of the Cardboard Base.

Connect the Motor Driver to the HUB and Place the HUB on Top Using Double Sided Gum Tape.

Upload the Program and Connect the Bluetooth App to the Bot.

Time to Drive! The bot moves just by the click of a button in the app!

Tip: You can use a light sensor module instead of working with bluetooth. Just connect the sensor and whenever light falls on the bot, it moves. Light source acts as the driver for the bot. In the same way, try different modules and keep learning!
