Three Ways to Make LED Chaser Circuit With Speed Control + Back and Forth Effect

CHASER INSTRU.jpg

LED Chaser Circuit is a circuit in which the LEDs lights one by one for a period of time and the cycle repeats giving the running light appearance.

Here, I will show you three different ways to make a LED Chaser Circuit :-

1. 4017 IC

2. 555 Timer IC

3. Only Transistors

You can also control the speed of all the three circuits by varying the resistance.

Components Required

These are the Components Required for making the circuit:

1. Using 4017 IC ()

• 4017 IC

• 555 Timer IC

• Potentiometer (10K Ω)

• Resistor: 1 K Ω

• Capacitor: 10 μF

• LEDs (10)

2. Using 555 Timer IC ()

• 555 Timer IC

• Zener Diode 1N4148

• Transistors: BC 547 (4)

• Resistors: 47K, 10K, 1K (2), 330Ω (4)

• Capacitors: 10 μF, 470 μF

• LEDS (4)

3. Using Only Transistors ()

• Transistors: BC 547 (3)

• Resistors: 100K (3), 2.2K (3)

• Capacitor: 10 μF (3)

• LEDs (3)

Other Requirements :

• Battery: 9V and battery clip

• Breadboard

• Breadboard Connectors
