I created this simple wallet a few years ago because I was frustrated with how thick my leather wallet was at the time. This wallets is thin, simple, and easy to make. It's perfect for someone just learning to sew. I made my first version of this wallet three years ago from a piece of Tyvek home wrap, and it has held up well to this day. In this Instructable I will make the wallet from a piece of 500 denier coated Cordura.

Supplies

- Wallet Pattern printed on 8.5 x 11 inch paper

- Xacto Knife and Cutting Mat

- 8.5 x 11 inch piece of stiff fabric. Felt, Cordura, Dyneema Composite Fabric, X-Pac, and Tyvek all work well.

- Scissors

- Sewing Machine

- Tape or Pins

- Thread

Step 1: Layout and Cut

Print out the PDF pattern of this wallet making sure to check the "Actual Size" box otherwise the pattern will come out a bit small.

Attach your pattern to your fabric using tape or pins.

Using a sharp Xacto blade, cut along the solid lines of the pattern to create the card slots of the wallet. Next cut the fabric around the perimeter to the same size as the paper.

Step 2: Fold and Stitch

Using the pattern as a guide, first fold the the two vertical edges inwards along the dotted lines.

Next fold along the upper and lower horizontal dotted lines inwards towards the middle so that they almost touch.

A top stitch will need to be run along the dashed line indicated by the Xacto blade in the picture.

After stitching, fold the wallet once more (hot dog style). To keep the wallet retained in this shape run two more top stitches, one on each side, as indicated by the dashed lines on the pattern.
