Assemble Ingredients
Assemble all the ingredients listed above.
*For picture purposes two measuring cups were used.
Add Ingredients to the Mixing Bowl
Add all three ingredients to the mixing bowl. Start by cracking the egg on side of bowl. Discard the shell of the egg and assure no shell is in the bowl. *May use an extra bowl to crack egg in to prevent shells in dough. Put one cup white sugar in bowl. Then put one cup of creamy peanut butter in the bowl. Use a spatula to get remaining peanut butter out of the measuring cup. It is important to do the sugar before the peanut butter to be able to use one measuring cup. *This recipe has raw egg in it. The cookies should not be consumed until baked.
Mixing the Ingredients
Use the mixer with the tight beaters to mix the ingredients. Plug it in at this time, turn on and begin mixing by holding the bowl with one hand and using the mixer in the other. Use a spatula if ingredients are stuck on the edges to assure getting mixed in. Do not touch the spatula to the mixer. Mixing time will be approximately 20 seconds. *Mixing time may be longer if not using a mixer and only using a spoon to stir.
Preparing the Pan
Place parchment paper to fit on a 9X13 ungreased baking sheet.
Making Cookie Dough Balls
Use the cookie scooper by dragging it in the bowl until it is full then level the cookie scooper off to be flat with the edges using the side of the bowl.
Place Dough Balls on Cookie Sheet
Push handle of cookie scooper when over the baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
Pressing With Fork
Take the fork and make two imprints in cookie. One imprint should be from top to bottom and the other from left to right. Pressing with fork firmly, yet leaving cookies thick.
Sprinkle With Sugar
Take your spoon and some extra sugar and sprinkle over the unbaked cookie. Place a little or a lot of sugar!
Complete the Pan
When using a 9X13 pan place three cookies to a row giving space to not touch each other. The cookie sheet should allow for twelve cookies on it depending on the size of the cookie scooper.
Time to Bake
Place unbaked cookie sheet in the preheated 375-degree oven using potholders and close oven door.
Set Timer
Set a timer for 11 minutes. Time depends on oven and altitude. Best to check on cookies several times. The goal is to have a nice evenly brown cookie. While baking the light of the oven may be turned on to watch them while baking. This will prevent the need to open the oven door while baking.
Clean Up
While the cookies are baking is a great time to put ingredients/materials away and wash dishes. When the cookies are done and ready to eat the mess will also be done!
Finished Product
When the cookies have finished baking time and appear golden brown turn off oven. Take cookie sheet out of oven using a potholder. Place cookie sheet on a potholder on top of counter. Let cool for 5 minutes before removing from baking sheet with metal spatula.
Serve and Enjoy
Serve these easy cookies and watch everyone enjoy. The cookies are fun to bake and so good! Memories will be made baking together with this simple recipe. Makes approximately 18 cookies.
