Hi i'm Liam and I'm in 6th grade in Texas.

I made this fully 3d printed portable/height adjustable wheel chair ramp because of all of the wheelchair bound people (like my neighbor) that struggle in non accessible places.

This was designed using Tinkercad and Autodesk Fusion 360 and was 3d printed on a Prusa printer with PLA filament.

If you would like to purchase the new and improved version go to https://www.etsy.com/shop/pineappleprints3d/?

Supplies

You will need:

  1. PLA filament
  2. 3D printer
  3. Tinkercad or another design software
  4. 3d printing software (Ultimaker-Cura)

Making the Largest Wedge

I started making the largest wedge by putting the wedge shape given by Tinkercad on the work plane. After this, I scaled the wedge up to 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches. Next I put another wedge on the build plane and I scaled up to 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 inches. After that, I put the first wedge up 0.75 hundredths of an inch above the build plane, and then put the first wedge into the second wedge until the front of the edge of the first and second are at the same level. Next, I made the first wedge using the "hole" option in Tinkercad and copied the first wedge (cmmd C),and grouped the first and second wedges together.

Making the Medium Sized Wedge

I started making the medium sized wedge by pasting the first wedge and scaling it down with the shift key two times. Next, I made the first wedge solid and grouped first and second wedges together. After that, I put 4 mm between the back of the open hole wedge and the front of the closed wedge and put the length of the first wedge and second wedge together from 5.534in to 10.38in. Lastly, I brought the length of both of them smaller by pressing the shift key and bringing the length to 7.250in.

Making the Smallest Wedge

Before I started making the smallest wedge, I moved the wedges to the edge of the build plate. Start by adding another wedge away from the other two wedges and increase the length from 1 inch to 2 inches. Next, increase the height from 1 inch to 1.125 inches. After that, move the third wedge into the second closed wedge and make sure the back of the closed second wedge is a quarter inch away from the back of the third wedge. Next, move the third wedge 8 mm off the ground, put the length side of the third wedge 5 mm away from the edge of the second wedge, and then copy the 3rd wedge. Next, change the third wedge to "hole," group the wedges together, and paste the third wedge. After pasting the third wedge, scale down with the shift key two times, and make the third wedge solid.

Finishing Touches and 3d Printing

The finishing touches and 3d printing step is extremely easy. Just bring to the desired size, adjust in fusion 360, and 3d print.
