This Is the House Where Hamster Lives
This is an attempt to make a house for a hamster from improvised means. As it turned out, a hamster may well live in such a craft. But the hamster is still a rodent, so he can "eat" this house. Despite this, the house is maintainable and damaged parts can be replaced with new ones. Therefore, it is more fun than something serious.
This project is related to the "Collapsible Cube" and "Milky Rubik's Snake" projects and uses elements from these projects.
Description of the house
The house has a room, gallery and loft. The room is square, size 14 by 14 cm. The ceiling of the room has a height of 7 cm. The room has an exit to the gallery. The height of the house is 19,5 cm. The design of the house is made in the Hi-Tech style.
Supplies
The material is a paper milk carton. A liter pack with a cross section of 7x7 cm is suitable for this craft. Assembled without glue.
Check Out the General Assembly Diagram
Parts are marked with Latin letters. Part I consists of two parts (not shown on the diagram).
Make Stencils
Print stencils on paper. Stick it on thick paper. Cut along solid lines. Fold along the dotted lines. Align the opposite edges of the stencil. Glue them together with sticky tape.
There are only four stencils. Each stencil indicates which part it is needed for.
Make Part A
Take the matching stencil. It does not have all the required holes. They must be added additionally.
When cutting, a piece of cardboard must be placed between the layers of the part. This will prevent damage to the bottom layer.
Make Part D
Part D is similar to Part A. But it only has one hole.
Make Parts B and C
These parts can be marked using the same stencil as for parts A and D. In this case, do not discard the cuttings (they may come in handy for part I).
You can mark with a ruler without using a stencil (you can see how wide they should be in the figure).
Make Part G
Take the matching stencil. After stenciling, it is necessary to extend the missing cut lines. There are four holes in the stencil, but we only need one.
Make Part H
This part is similar to part G, but there are no holes in it.
Make Part F
This part is similar to the G part, but you can make any hole you like.
Make Part E
Make a "strip" 9 cm wide. Mark the flaps 1 cm wide. Cut corners at each flap. Fold the flaps inward. Cut a 5 cm hole on one of the edges (you can use a stencil for marking)
.
Make Part I (Stairs)
Part I (stairway) consists of two parts: a stairs and a railing. In this step, we will make stairs.
The material for them can be taken from the cuttings obtained in Step 5.
Make Part I (Railing)
In this step, we will make railing.
Assembling Part I (Stairway)
Insert the railing into the stairs. Fold one of the stairs. Then fold the remaining one. The railing will act as a latch. You can experiment with the colors of the parts.
For crafts, you need two stairways.
Subtotal
Before assembling, we will check the presence of all parts.
