Themed Necklaces
I first made one of these necklaces (the anchor one) on the Maker Faire Kerkrade last year, when I was already done setting everything up but the faire wasn't opened yet. I made three that day and displayed them, together with my other jewelry pieces. To my surprise, people really liked them and wanted to buy them. I kept the blue one because I liked it best and wanted to be able to photograph it later. And now is that time :)
It is a really easy project that doesn't take long, but still allows you to create a really fun, nice-looking necklace. The complete necklace is based on the charm you choose, that's why I called them themed necklaces. I hope you like it and maybe will try it yourself :D

Materials
To make a necklace, you will need the following:
- two or three beads matching the theme of your charm (I chose a leaf charm, so I chose blueish beads to go with it)
- a charm (preferably a bit larger, this is the center piece of your necklace
- connection loop (mine was metal look, not metal)
- jump rings (how many depends on the size and amount of the beads)
- metal wire (I used silver plated wire)
- imitation suede lace (or just any kind of string, but I prefer this, because it's really comfortable), (again, choose a colour matching the charm)
- scissors
- pliers
- a charm (preferably a bit larger, this is the center piece of your necklace

The Beads
Cut off three pieces of wire (if you have two beads, cut off two pieces) of the same length. Use your round nose pliers to make a loop. Put the loop straight on the piece of wire as shown.
Next, add one of your beads. Fold the wire down and, using flat nose pliers, bend it to the side as shown. Continue wrapping the wire around the bead using your fingers.
Repeat this for the other bead(s).

Putting It Together
Take your jump rings and lay out your design. Using two pairs of pliers, open the jump rings, join them and add the beads/charms. To finish off the complete pendant part, add the top jump ring to the connection ring.
Adding the Lace
Cut off the length of lace that you need. Fold the lace in half. Put the folded side through the connection loop and put the ends through the loop. Pull them tight to end this knot. To finish the necklace, knot the ends together.
