Hi all I'm Brian from Belgium.

And I present you my red bull filled instructable. (actually there chocolates filled whit red bull)

This time its a little different from the 2 things I made before.

Here is why.

It is my first instructable that doesn't contain an arduino. (you can ad one but I think its not tasty)

It is spell checked from the start :)

its the second instructable I created that contains food :)

you guys can make it in less than an hour.

The story

2 time's a week I refine my jeet kunne do skills.and before training I drink a can of red bull to give me some energy.one time I was a bit late and there was no time to eat a decent meal.Whit no time to lose I eat a piece of 90% dark Belgium chocolate (Belgium chocolate is called chocolade here). Then the usual redbull in the car.whit the taste of the chocolate in my mouth I drank from the can and BAM a new combination has discoverded.I though I could refine this.so I made some chocolates. Luckily my second job was machine operator in a large chocolate factory.

I hear you think "yuk" that's an awful combination.so I dare you to make them yourself.you will be surprised.

You Will Need

Shopping list

  • 100 grams of dark chocolate
  • 100 grams of milk chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar.
  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey
  • 4 gelatine leaves
  • 330 ml redbull

Soak and Cut

Soak you're 4 leaves of gelatin in some cold water
Then cut you bars of chocolate in small peaces.its important that they have a uniform size. I made a mix of 50% dark and 50% milk

Heat Up the Drink

Empty the bottle of redbull in a pan and let it boil on a medium fire.
Boil for 1 minute and add the honey .Take the pot of the fire and add the gelatin (soaked for 5 minutes )

then give it a good stir and make sure the gelatin is completely gone in the mix

pour the mix in a metal tray and put it in the freezer.

The tablespoon of white sugar is not mandatory . I like it without

From Solid to Liquid

put the pot with the cut up chocolate in the microwave.
I suggest u use a pot made out of stone.it spreads the heat more eavenly

Microwave for 30 seconds.stir and then again 30 seconds.

The chocolate looks like its is not molten. However when you give it a stir it will melt.

you can stop stirring when the chocolate starts to shine.then pour it into you're mould

The Shell

20150115_202653.jpg

spread the chocolate evenly into every hole in the mould

.tap the mould gently for about 30 times to let the air out of the mix.
Then turn the mould upside down and give the mould a shake.keep doing this for about 15 seconds.

the longer you do this the thinner the shell will be.since its is a step of trial and error I suggest you practice this a couple of times until you are pleased white the thickness of the shell.

My advice is better to thick than to thin.

Then before putting it in the freezer for 5 minutes scrape away the excess chocolate

The Inside

20150115_210407.jpg
20150115_210418.jpg
20150115_210424.jpg

check you're redbull mix and the shells.
If the mix is solidified and if the shells are hard then you may take them out of the freezer.

Put a little scoop of gel in every shell. Fill the shell not entirely but stop 4 mm above the top of the mould.

Once done put the filled shells back in the freezer for 5 minutes. This is important!!!

If you do not do this, the warm chocolate that will be poured on (see next step) will melt the redbull mix in seconds and ruins the chocolates entirely

Bottoms Up

20150115_212958.jpg

re melt the chocolate that you have left over from step 5 (the excess that you poured out when upside down)

and this time you put it in the microwave for one full minute and stir it into a smooth mass.then pour it onto the mould and spread it out with a rubber spoon .Then you scrape away the excess (gently not to tear apart the bottom you just made :) )

place inside the freeze for 5 minute to cure.

Cure and Pop :)

20150115_220203.jpg

after 5 minutes take them out of the freeze and let them cure further in a cold dry place.
I let them cure 4 hours before I take them out of the mould.if you use a silicon mould you can just pop them out (see picture) next I take a knife to check the shell thickness this time they are perfect for me :)

The Big Moment

20150115_220950.jpg

Take a nice plate to serve them to yourself and your friends.

I let my friends taste first and then I ask them to guess the filling inside.things my friends said are:

  • Lemon
  • Berry's
  • Lemon
  • Yoghurt
  • Banana
  • Lavender

so you see its a very versatile flavor :)

So now.you still say "yuk" that cannot possibly be a good combination??

Eat one.and then say in the comments what did you think after you ate them :) i dare you :)

I am Brian from Belgium and as always sorry for the crappy English
