The Storyteller Bird
This storyteller Bird is my son's favorite prop when we roleplay or have a storytelling session. This bird is very easy to make and certainly adds a smile to the face and makes storytelling even more interesting.
Supplies
To make this bird we need:
- A Square Piece of paper ( 21cm by 21cm)
- Coloring pens
- Pencil
- Scissors
Folding the Bird
- First, lay the paper on a flat surface, so that one of its corners is facing you.
- Now, fold it along the diagonal. Crease the folded edge will fingernails and then unfold the paper.
- Next, fold the two side corners to the creased diagonal and then fold the paper in half along the same creased diagonal at the center.
- Measure 14 cm from the bottom and put a mark with a pencil. Then connect this mark with the side corner with dotted lines.
- Fold along the dotted lines and continue folding and wrapping this extruded part until a small triangular flap remains.
- Tuck this flap in the pocket to lock it properly. This will be the beak of the bird . Crease all the folds nicely.
- Cut a small triangular piece near the other end to make tail of the bird.
Adding Makeup
- Color the bird in bright vibrant colors of your choice.
- Now, insert your index finger into the pocket at the bottom and our talkative bird will be ready to tell us stories.
