The Ring Toss Game

This fun game can be played anywhere from inside on a rainy day to the backyard in the summer to the beach while you are on vacation. This fun game incorporates a little bit of both skill and luck.

Materials:

• 1" PVC pipe
• 90 Degree 1" PVC elbow connector
• 1" PVC Tee
• Rope
• Heavy duty tape/duct tape

Tools:

• Pipe cutters
• Measuring tape
• scissors

You will need to cut four pieces of 1inch PVC pipe. Cut three pieces eight inches long, and one piece fifteen inches long. Then put the eight inch pieces into all three sides of the tee. On the piece of pipe coming out of the center prong in the tee add the ninety degree elbow, in the end of the elbow that is still open add the fifteen inch piece of PVC pipe perpendicular to the ground.

The diameters(distance directly across the center of the the ring) that I used were ~five inches and ~seven inches. Which means that the length of rope that I cut for each ring was 15 inches and 21 inches respectively. I made three rings of each length. after you have cut the rope for each ring, put the ends together and use the heavy duty tape or duct tape. Make two sets of rings with different colors for two different teams. If you only have one color of rope use two different colors of tape, and vice versa.

while you are scoring each ring is worth a different number of points. The large(7 inch) rings are worth one point each, the medium(5 inch) rings are worth three points each if you get them on the upright piece of pipe. The first person to get twenty-one points wins. Designate a point that you have to stand behind to throw from, I recommend about ten feet away, or you can make two of the stationary bases and upright pipes and have the two teams or people standing a certain distance away, like in corn hole or the bean bag toss. If you want to make the game more difficult, lean the arm toward or away from the person that is throwing.
