The Raider SPS-7

IMG_1710.JPG

This instructable will show you how to create the undermounted shotgun on the raider cs-35 as seen in my youtube vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYmXGnL7K2g. Its a fun little addition to the raider that i created and used multiple times when me and my friend (That tried really hard to get in the back of the vid) messed around with nerf guns today.

Materials Needed

To do this undermounted shotgun mod your going to need these:

                 - A Nerf Raider Cs-35 gun
                 - A Buzz Bee Toys Double Shot shot gun
                 - A Bolt and a Nut that fits that bolt
                 - A Screwdriver
                 - A saw of some kind that you can use to cut plastic
                 - A metal clothes hangar
                 - Wire cutters
                 - Pliers
                 - And lastly tape ( I used duct tape)

The Shotgun Piece

The first step is to cut the piece for the shotgun itself. To do this you'll need to unscrew the screws that hold together the bottom half of the shotgun and then pop out the upper half (you'll need to cut the rope to do this). Once the two are seperate pieces, you dont need the bottom half anymore so set that aside. Now you'll need to make two cuts, (i did this part using a bansaw since the hacksaw would take all day) look into the barrel of the shotgun. There is a spring in each barrel. You need to cut a half-an-inch to an inch past where the spring starts. I just cut where the barrel got to its smallest diameter. Then cut just above the hole where the gun pivots when opened so the loop from the raider will line up with the hole.

Trigger Mech

The trigger is extremely simple. Take your clothes hangar and wire cutters, cut off the flat part at the bottom of the hangar center it over the shotgun piece and bend with clearance so it will slide. It helps to bend it at an angle so both shots don't go at once. I'll explain how to mount it on the gun in the next step.

Mounting the Shotgun

Take your bolt and slide it through on side of the shotgun the metal cocking loop on the raider and then the other side of the shotgun. Tighten the nut about halfway down. Then place the cut clothes hangar on the front and tuck the ends behind each side of the bolt. Tape it to secure it on the gun and make sure the bar slides up and clicks the green and black notches.

Loading/Shooting the Shotgun

The shot gun shoots the shells from the double shot, so place those in small end first  till they click into place. Then just slide the small bar to shoot. Also just pull the shotgun back and then push it foward like you would the handle to cock the raider. Thanks for reading my first instructable.
