First, take the 2 AAA batteries and line them up with the poles of the second opposite the first. like in any battery box. Cut a piece of aluminum foil the width of the 2 batteries and tape it on. Next strip the wires of the motor, with the positive lead twice as long. cut a rectangle of aluminum foil the same size as the one you taped to the bottom of the batteries. Put the positive wire in the middle and fold it over. Now fold the end of the wire over. Tape this to just the positive end of your battery pack tightly. Solder the end of the negative lead of the motor to the momentary switch. Now solder a short length of wire to the other lead of the switch, and wrap it in foil like you did on the positive lead. finish by taping it all together into a tight little pack.

Motor Assembly

First drill a 1/4 inch offset of the center of the container and debur it(you wouldn't want to get cut by the hole). Next drill 2 1/16 inch holes on each side of the container, and 3 holes in the bottom of the container for your standoffs. Strech two lengths of baling wire across the container. Bend a U-shape at each end to hold it in place. Slip some silicon tubing the length of the motor shaft and your screw over the shaft of the motor. attach the motor to the 2 spanning wire with the Quick Steel or epoxy putty. Depending of the brand of the putty you bought, this should take about and hour to fully harden.

Stands

Make the 1st stand below with baling wire for the lighter. For those of you who made the first main stand, forget it. It comes out of the tin horribly mangled. Instead take three PCB standoffs and put rubber feet on one end of each one. Screw each on in to one of the three holes on the bottom of the tin. That's all for the stands.

Spinner

PICT0067.JPG
Unfortunately, my camera battery went dead after I made the spinner, but I have a picture of it. I will also describe it to you. Take the metal snapple lid and sand all the paint and plastic off. There is a lot of plastic on the inside, but this comes ou real easy with a dremel and a wire brush attachment. If you have a sand blaster, well then lucky you. Now with an exacto knife, make a hole bunch of litte holes around the perimeter of the lid. Make sure they are really small. This technique can be viewed here: Cotton Candy Machine .Next drill a hole that your screw will fit through in the center of the lid.

Finish

Before you start making the sweet stuff, you must clean everything with soap and water for saftey(except for the motor, batteries, and lighter). Screw your spinner into the silicon tubing on the motor, and attach the motor assembly to the tin. put the assembly on the stand. Take the rubber band and use it to hold the lever down on the lighter. light the lighter, and put it on the stand place it under the hole in the bottom of the tin. pour in your sugar and wait till it melts. turn on your motor and start the collection. Good luck! I have also provide a picture of packing. you will have to fold up the stand. Thanks for looking!
