The objective of this project was to create an interactive educational game that demonstrates the concept of planetary orbits, gravity, and object trajectory. Unlike a static model, this game challenges the player's knowledge of the planets and their fine skills.

Supplies

  1. Cardboard
  2. Artpaper
  3. Glue
  4. GI Wire
  5. Spray Paint
  6. Marble Balls
  7. Bottle Caps

  1. Take several pieces of cardboard and secure them together using glue.
  2. The assembled cardboard forms the base frame of the game.

  1. Apply art paper over the cardboard frame, giving the frame a cleaner, more finished look.

  1. Use marble balls to represent the planets.
  2. Take bottle caps and paint them. These caps will act as the holders for the planets.

Names and Numberisation

  1. Attach the painted bottle caps to the cardboard frame.
  2. Underneath each cap, place a label with planet's name.
  3. Numberise in each cap serially.

Installing the GI Wire Track

  1. Add two GI wires from the top of the structure, running down the path toward the caps.
  2. This parallel wires create a track or ramp. This track is where the planet-marbles will roll or slide down.

Final

This game is a successful synthesis of learning. The inclined GI wire track effectively demonstrates the principle of motion and trajectory under gravity. The challenge lies in the fine skill required to initiate the marble's roll with the exact momentum and position needed to overcome friction and land in its specific target.
