The Pegasus Says Upcycle

Remember those funny little balsa and/or foam  gliders that seemed to be sold everywhere when you were a kid?  Here is how to  make them out of old cereal boxes.  You will need an empty box, a razor and some thing to protect the table you cut on.  and a basic template of the glider you want to make.

Find or Make a Template

Almost any fairly simple stencil will work.  I have made birds, a few types of planes and a dragon.  spray paint (or trace) the template onto cardboard from the empty box.

Cut the shapes out. If you are careful most designs can be cut out as one piece.  This is awesome, since you can now give the template to a friend so they can make toys too.

This really easy little bit is the hardest part. Cut notches into the body and the wing so that they can fit together. Narrower cuts make for better fits.
Put the two pieces together.

"Daddy can I have a pony?"
 "Yep, here ya go"
