The Mummybot Papercraft With LED
Based on the amazing "Free Halloween Mummybot Papercraft" by jessyratfink, I've created this one as a "red head". Every time he gets excited (when you squeeze his hand) his head illuminates in bright red.
Supplies
- Printed Papercraft by jessyratfink (I used 160 gr/m² paper)
- Scissors
- Xacto knife
- Cutting mat
- Ruler
- LED
- Battery
- Wire
- Tape
- Copper band
The Assembly
Cut the wire in a suitable length. You will need three wire pieces, two of the same color - in my case red. I linked the little copper band pieces to the wire to act as a pushbutton and connected the wire with the battery. I avoided soldering and fixed everything with tape.
Follow jessyratfink's Instructable to assemble the Mummybot.
I added additional wholes and cuts to the mummybots body and arm to insert the wire and LED. The copper band pushbutton was sandwitched between the arm pieces.
The battery was placed into the body.
Please take all necessary safety precautions while working with heat, sharp objects, electricity, vapors or resulting gases, bright light and whatever could endanger your health.
Shake Hands
By squeezing the mummybots pushbutton-hand the copper band will touch and the head flashes up in a bright red light. So much fun. An additional little project to pimp up the anyway cute little mummybot and have a reason to shake his hand every day.
Thank you for reading, watching and paying attention. Please check out jessyratfink's Instructable and built one yourself.
Hopefully Auf Wiedersehen in one of my next Instructables.
