The Money Maker D I Y
I this video I will show you the process of making forge nicknamed "The Money maker", it is named money maker because one of my friends said that machines and tools are the real money makers so it sounded cool. In the future we will use it for forging tools and knifes and there will also be a part 2 of this where I will make it "modern" using some sweet tech.If video is bad I'm sorry it is been a long time since I made a video and most of my material was lost and I was left only with some of the pictures, I hope next part will be better, stay tuned and subscribe for more videos and useful material.
Cleaning
First thing in converting this old water heater in to furnace is cleaning, I used angle grinder, steel brush to clean it and make nice and clean for welding part.
Tools:
- Angle grinder
- Steel brush
- Arc welder
- Hamer
- WD 40
- Wrench
Parts:
- Old water heater
- Hinge
- Metal pipes ( 30 cm long, or whatever you have)
- 3x chamotte brick
- Scrap meta
Welding the Hinge and Handle
After I cleaned the tank I made one side cut, over which I welded a old door hinge, handle was made from two small pipes.
Pipes were welded in T shape, and on the other side of the tank. After putting hinge and handle, I cut tank so the 1/4 of the thank can be open.I did this so the furnace can be cleaned.
Making Insulation
For insulation of the furnace I used chamotte brick's, because chamotte brick's are fire resistant.I used 2 whole bricks and one that I split in 4 pieces.
You can also use special glue to fix them, but I did not do that, because of future modification.
Next part will be more quality and better than this one, I use to have more material while writing but I lost 90% of video and pictures during the process, sorry if this is not best work you seen but I promise it will be more fun in next project.
