"The Magical Galapagos Islands" is a model made on TinkerCad. It's based on the beauty and all the attractions that these islands can offer you. This idea was born because during our technology class we worked on a project called "The Prometo Ecuador", whose purpose was to create a place from this wonderful country, to promote national tourism when this situation of the COVID-19 improves. By sharing the different ideas of each one, we were able to realize the unique paradises that we can find, and that will surely be part of our list of trips in the future.

When I first started I had several ideas in mind that I didn't know which to decide on, so many things that I could choose! In the end, after so much thinking, I had an amazing idea. I wanted to recreate the exclusive Galapagos Islands. They are undoubtedly a magical destination, and that was what I wanted to capture in my design. My purpose was that when people see it, they can transport themselves and observe those little details. From the colorful starfish, the little fish, the snorkeling glasses, the shark and dolphin fins, to the incandescent sun.

It was a job that required effort, patience, dedication, and undoubtedly a long time. However, I consider that all this was worth it. The result reflects each of these small factors, and I can gladly say that I accomplished what I had hoped.

Supplies

1.) A computer (desktop, laptop, tablet, etc)

2.) TinkerCad (Website or app)

The Beach Elements

1. The sea:

For the sea, I used the scribble tool. I wanted to achieve that wave effect, so what I did was make some doodles, which in the end would become that foam that the waves produce. For the final retouches, I searched for two different tones of blue to make it more realistic. The one that covered most of the sea was an aqua color, and the one for the waves and foam was a very light blue color.

1.1. The sand:

To create the sand, I also used the scribble tool since it allowed me to provide quite a few details. I drew a rectangle and then placed it under the sea. I painted it with beige to achieve that effect of real sand, and finally, I added some brown lines on top with the scribble tool.

2. The turtle:

The turtle was an item that needed a few pieces. For the body itself (the fins, head, and tail), I used the paraboloid tools with the solid color of light green, and place them next to the turtle shell diagonally. Then, for the turtle shell, I used the half-sphere with a vibrant green solid color. Lastly, for the eyes and mouth, I used the black painted circles and curved roof tool to make it stand out.

2.1. The fishes:

For the fishes, I used the scribble tool, and with my touchpad, I carefully drew the silhouette of them. Later, I placed them in a scattered way so that it gave that effect that they are swimming. The colors I used are pink, light yellow, fuchsia, mint green, coral, and purple. To conclude with a little more detail, I added a dolphin fin colored gray.

3. Starfish:

To be a little more detailed, I added three differently colored starfish in the lower right corner, which I made with the star tool that comes built into the platform. Its colors are orange, red, and light green and they are very vibrant and cheerful.

3.1 Flowers:

I added some flowers on the sand to give it a more tropical touch and so that people observing it can see the flora that Galapagos has. They are magenta, neon green, and purple.

3.2 Snorkeling instruments:

I added some of the artifacts that are used when doing snorkeling, since I wanted to show the variety of activities that can be done, mainly highlighting this activity which attracts tourists a lot. I put some green glasses on the sand, next to some pastel pink diving fins, and in the sea, I added a purple diving tube.

The Sky

4. The sun:

To give a warm atmosphere to my work, I added a sun in the top left corner, with the circle tool on the platform. It has a yellow outline, and the interior is colored with a lighter yellow. Then I made the rays of the sun with the popsicle stick tool, put them around, and colored them orange. I combined all these colors to ensure that each of the elements stands out, and when seen it, causes that realistic effect.

4.1 The clouds:

To complement the sky, I added some clouds which I drew with the scribble tool and placed them on the sides of the sun. I colored them light blue, and they gave a great touch to the project!

5. Beach Umbrella:

To make this work much cooler, I added a beach umbrella on the sand. For this, I used the paraboloid tool to make the top and colored it white, red, and blue. Finally, I made the stick with the polygon tool and painted it yellow.

5.1 Little Birds:

To complement the sky, I made little birds and placed them scattered between the clouds to make it look like they are flying. For this, I used the black mustache tool.

5.2 Palm Trees:

For a more tropical sensation, I added some palm trees in the sand, since several of these can be found in Galapagos. I made them using the cylinder and scribble tool and paint them green with brown.

5.3 Boat:

We can not miss a boat in the middle of the ocean showing us more alternatives that we can do if we visit this place! We can take tours, and even take a cruise! I made this boat using the scribble tool, and combine the colors gray, white, red for the structure and orange for the flag. It is important to remember that it is necessary to protect marine areas and ecosystems. For this reason, we draw it under sail and not with steam or motor.

5.4 Sand Castle:

As a last detail, who does not want to see or make a beautiful castle on the sand? Well, this model does have it! I used the box tool for the base and the cylinder tool for the castle pillars. I placed 4, one in each corner and one in the center higher than the others. To give it a more realistic effect, I added the cone metric gear tool to the tip of each pillar. Finally, I put a little flag in the middle of the castle and some shells on the sides.
