The Magic Flip Lamp You Can Build at Home!

The basic materials you'll need are an LED strip, magnets, glue, a mercury switch, and a bottle.

1. Plastic or Glass bottle→ Amazon.ca | Amazon.com
2. 3v LED strip x 1 → Amazon.ca | Amazon.com | Taobao
3. Mercury Switch x 1 → Amazon.ca | Amazon.com | Taobao
4. N52 Magnets → Amazon.ca | Amazon.com | Taobao
5. 3V coin battery → Amazon.ca | Amazon.com | Taobao

Follow the attached schematic on how to connect the electronics.

First, glue a magnet to the bottom of the bottle.

Next, make a hole in the bottle cap to feed the LED strip through. Also, glue a magnet to the bottom of the LED strip.

Connect the mercury switch to one of the wires of the LED strip, then solder one leg of the switch to the 3V coin battery. Glue the battery and wires into the end of the bottle cap.

Glue the cap to the top of the bottle, then screw it onto the bottle. Now, you have a magical flip night light that turns on or off with a simple flip!

Give it a flip and see the light turn on- great for outdoors camping/night light!
