The Impossible Wooden Knot
There exist many of wooden knot puzzle, but this is
the only one, I know, made of 6 equal pieces.
It seems impossible, to put all these pieces together, but if you know the trick it is easy.
I made these puzzle out of scrap wood and the wood I used was Swiss Pine.

Prepare the Pieces
All you need is a table saw and sandpaper or a random orbit sander.
Cut the pieces into the same thickness,
then cut them all to the same length.
Cut the Notches
I made a little jig for my crosscut sled.
It is a piece of wood with 90° V-slot
On both sides, I glued a little piece of wood with a taped hole and a long screw.
I lowered the saw blade to the half of the diagonal of the square pieces
then I made a first cut somewhere in the middle of my jig.
The next step was trial and error. I made the first cut through a piece
on the left side and the second cut on the right side.
Then I turned it 180° and made another cut left and one right.
With the screws on both side I have reduced the error until I got
a perfect pyramid in the middle section.
Now , I cut many pieces all in the same way!
Sanding
If you make only one puzzle, then sandpaper is good enough.
But I made many of them, so I turned my random orbit sander
upside down and sanded all the edges.
How to Put It Togehter
The idea is, to make 2 groups with 3 pieces and then put these groups together
To make the first group, place one piece in the notch of the first one and a third piece from the side.
The second group is a mirror image of the first one
Take one group in each hand, hold it tight, and slide them together.
Prepared for Christmas
I made all on one afternoon.
