Materials

You will need:

  • 4 plastic water bottles
  • 1 - 2 liter bottle
  • scissors
  • hobby knife
  • ruler
  • 4 popcycle sticks
  • large piece of cardboard
  • hot glue gun
  • compass for drawing circles
  • tape
  • funnel
  • something to weigh down the 2 liter bottle (rice would work well)
  • materials to decorate with; such as scrapbooking paper, colored pens and pencils, etc.

Step 1

Using a pair of scissors, cut a circle of cardboard about 12 inches in diameter. Then, using the compass, draw 4 circles around the cardboard about the same size around as the water bottles, and cut them out using the hobby knife. A circle will also need to be cut in the center of the cardboard that is 1 in. in diameter.

Step 2

Using the funnel, fill the 2 liter bottle with something such as rice, sand, etc.

Step 3

Decorate the 2 liter bottle (I covered it with scrapbooking paper)

Step 4

Decorate or cover the piece of cardboard

Step 5

Cut a slit in each of the water bottles very close to the cap using the scissors. Make sure it is wide enough to fit the popcycle stick through.

Step 6

Fill each of the water bottles with your favorite ice cream toppings (such as M & M's, coconut, chocolate chips, etc.) Then, fit each of the bottles into the cardboard. If they do not fit quite tight enough, use the hot glue gun to secure them. To attach the cardboard to the 2 liter bottle, simply unscrew the 2 liter cap, fit the cardboard on, then screw the cap back on.

Step 7

Make labels that show what you have in each bottle. Then, decorate it however you want. (I used scrapbooking punch-outs and hot glued them on)
