The HOT CHICKEN SOUP That Wins Hearts!
For me Soups = Health + Taste. I like soups because they are healthier and super easy to make. I have made so many types of non vegetarian soups but This is my and my family's favorite chicken soup. This soup definitely wins hearts. So If you are looking forward to having soup, then here is one of the best chicken soup recipe for you. This is an easy-to-make recipe that takes around an hour to prepare. With few ingredients you can make this yummy, hot, sizzling, tasty, delicious and healthy chicken soup. Without wasting any time get your chicken, veggies and start making this.

Supplies
- Chicken
- Oil
- Salt
- Black pepper powder
- Chili flakes
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Green chilies
- Onion
- Carrot
- Beans
- Capsicum
- Corn
- Coriander leaves
- Spring onion greens
- Corn Flour
- Egg
Being Choosy Is Important 😜
- We need approximately 150-200 grams of chicken.
- It's important to use bone pieces.
- Choose chicken piece with bone.
- Chicken bone has gelatin which gives nice flavor to the soup and also makes the soup more healthy.
- I have used thighs, wings and other bone pieces.
Chicken Broth
Chicken broth is rich with vitamins and minerals, which are useful against common ailments like the common cold, the flu, and food poisoning.
To prepare soup we need chicken broth. You can either use readymade chicken broth or follow the steps to make it from scratch. I would suggest you to make it from scratch like I do.
Broth From Scratch
To prepare the chicken broth we need a pressure cooker.
- Heat the pressure cooker.
- Add 2-3 tablespoon of oil. You can use any oil. (I have used vegetable oil.)
- Let it get hot and Smokey.
GG (Ginger Garlic)
- Once the oil is nice and hot, Add 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic.
- Add 1/2 tablespoon of chopped ginger.
- Let the ginger and garlic cook it till the raw flavor vanishes. .
Chicken Mission
- Add the chicken to the ginger garlic.
- Mix with the sautéed ginger garlic.(Chicken might stick to the bottom. Don't worry it will be fine.)
- Keep sautéing the chicken till it is half cooked.
Tastemaker
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt (or as per taste).
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder.
- Mix everything well.
- Cook the chicken well for 3-4 minutes.
Water
Add around 750 to 1000ml water and let it boil.
Some Flavor
- Add 1 tablespoon of finely chopped coriander leaves.
- Coriander leaves will give a nice flavor to the the broth.
- You can use coriander stems too.
Cooker Ki Seeti Me Mera Mann Dole
- Close the pressure cooker lid.
- Cook it for 3-4 whistles on high flame.
- Then 1 whistle on medium flame.
- Turn off the flame.
- Let the cooker cool down. (It will take around 10-15 minutes)
Broth Is Ready
- Open the lid.
- Our broth is ready.
- With the help of a strainer, strain the broth.
- Separate Broth and chicken pieces
Shredding Chicken
- Take the chicken pieces in another plate.
- Remove the bone, (i.e. Separate the bone from the flesh.)
- Shred the chicken pieces. (You can use a fork or you can do it with your hands too.)
Chopp Chopp!
Finely Chop all veggies.
I have taken the following veggies:
- 1 Small Carrot.
- 3-4 French beans.
- 1/2 capsicum.
- 1 small Onion.
- 1 Green chili.
- 8-10 garlic cloves.
- 1 inch ginger.
- Handful of coriander leaves.
- Spring onion greens.
Prep done!
Light Up the Flame 🔥
- Take a wide deep pan or a soup pot.
- Light up the flame.
- Add 3 tablespoons of oil.
- Let the oil get nice and hot.
Some Sautéing
- Once the oil is hot.
- Add chopped green Chilies.
- Let it pop.
- Then add the chopped garlic and chopped ginger.
- Sauté.
- Cook it till the raw smell vanishes and it becomes slight golden brown.
Time for Some Onions
- Add chopped onions.
- Mix it.
- Cook them till it becomes translucent.
Carrots
- Add chopped carrot.
- Mix mix mix.
- Cover and cook it for 2 minutes as carrot takes more time to cook.
Some Beans
- Add chopped French beans.
- Let it cook for a few minutes.
- It's important to cook all the veggies nicely.
- So give time for each veggie to get cooked.
Capsicum
- Add chopped capsicum.
- Capsicum doesn't require much time to cook.
- Mix it well.
Make It Colorful!
- Add corn.(I have used frozen corn here, you can use fresh or boiled corn too.)
- Mix it well and let it cook with the other veggies.
Spice It Up!
Now it is time to spice it up.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon salt. (As per taste)
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder.
- Add 1 tablespoon of red chili flakes.
- Mix everything well.
- Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Some More Flavor
Add chopped coriander leaves and chopped spring onion greens.
Soupyy
- Add the prepared chicken broth to the veggies.
- Let it boil.
Chicken Love
- Add the shredded chicken.
- Keep stirring.
- Make the soup boil.
Corn Starch Slurry
- Make corn starch slurry.
- Slurry is important to achieve the required consistency of the soup.
- Take 2 tablespoons of corn flour.
- Add water and make a nice slurry.
Consistency
- Once the soup has come to a boil.
- Add the slurry little by little.
- Keep stirring the soup.
Adjustments
- Add water if needed to adjust the consistency.
- Cover and Let it cook.
Egg Love
- In a bowl break an egg.
- Beat it.
Egg Drop in the Soup
- Remove the lid.
- Drop the beaten egg.
- I have added the video for reference.
- Simultaneously keep stirring the soup.
Almost Done!
- Mix it well.
- Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Readyyy!!!
Delicious Chicken soup is ready!
Serve it hot and garnish it with some spring onion greens.
