The Element Stones

DSC06791.JPG

So I made this as little decoration for the top of my PC and they give a little place to stash small items where people wont think to look.

Supplies

3.8 mm plywood

Laser cutter

Bees Wax

sand paper 400G

CA glue

Download the Files

Screenshot_1.jpg

The files are design to work on a k40 laser system with a bed size of 300mm by 200mm

Cutting

I used K40 Whisperer to print these files. In the advanced settings combine the engraving and cutting tasks

The setting for the engraving should set at 300mm/s and the cutting at 10mm/s and the laser power was set to 90%.

Glueing

Use the CA glue to stick the pieces together

If you wan to use these as secret boxes then do not glue the top on.

A Quick Rub

The stones need a quick going over with sand paper to remove any soot/charing left over from the laser cutter and then a quick rub down with some wax to protect the wood and give them a little shine.

I hope this instructable helps you create your own stones. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
