The Chair on Strike

The chair is on strike!

Mr. Chair has been suffering from the brutal pressure of modern society, feeling overloaded, and decided to go on strike.

Supplies

To build up Mr. Chair's body, you need:

  • 8 × Spherical Hinges 
  • 1 × Cardboard
  • 1 × Foamboard
  • 4 × Wooden Sticks
  • 1 × Fixing Support
  • 1 × Sponge Board
  • 1 × Wood Pattern Tape
  • Linen
  • Cotton 

To make up his mind about going on strike, you need:

  • 1 × Arduino UNO R3 
  • 1 × Breadboard
  • 2 × Ultrasonic Distance Sensor sensors (HC-SRF05)
  • 4 × Continuous Servo FS90R
  • 4 × Roller
  • 50 × Dupont Thread 
  • 1 × Power Supply Cable 5,5×2,1 mm

Mr. Chair, sensitive and fragile, is structurally made of foam board and wooden sticks.

Take one piece of foam board and cut it into the appropriate size.

3D-print the ball-joints, and string rollers.

Fix the string on the chair as the image shows.

Whittle the wooden stick into the diameter that can fit in the hole on the printed joints.

Cut four sponge bars to decorate the chair legs.

Lastly, dress Mr. Chair up with a beautiful couch cover.

Set up the RF sensors and servos.

Test the middle position pulse where the motors stay still, and the positive and negative spinning speed.

Connect the Arduino board with sensors, servos and energy supply as shown in the picture.

Programming

Program your Arduino board.

Use the length of the string to control the movement of Mr. Chair.
