The Best Whole Wheat Bread

IMG_5373.JPG

There's nothing better than a fresh loaf of bread, the smell of the yeast, and a warm slice of bread with jam, Nutella or cream cheese.

The only problem is that making bread is so complicated and it takes a lot of effort. Well, not this one.

In this instructable I'll show you the best recipe for a whole wheat bread, that you can make in a bread machine. I've been using my bread machine for years and I've made countless different recipes, I found that in most recipes the bread is too dense or it crumbles when you try to slice it. Other recipes are kind of moody, the bread comes out good one time and the next four times it's too dense. This recipe is from my grandma's cookbook and I modified it to make it bread machine friendly. Since I came up with this recipe (a few months ago) I make at lest one loaf per week. I'm sure you'll love it too!

It's delicious, it slices beautifully, and it's cheaper and healthier than store bought (no artificial flavours or conservatives).

If you bought a bread machine but it's now in your basement it's because you haven't found the perfect recipe. Go find it and try this one!

Add the sugar, salt, flour
With your finger make a small indentation in one side of the flour. It shouldn't be too deep or you'll get to the water that's below. Add yeast to indentation.

Select Program

Put the container back into the bread machine.
Close the lid and select your program. For reference I make mine with this settings: -Sandwich (2:55) -1.5 lb That's it, you just have to wait and it'll make all the hard work.

Yes it takes a while but you don't have to make anything else!

It´s Ready!

When it's ready take out the container, turn it upside down to take out the bread.

Tips

Wait at least 15 min before you slice it. If you slice it too hot it'll loose its shape.
I put my entire loaf in a plastic container with lid. And cut a slice as needed. You could slice it all at once, but it'll become drier.

As this bread is all natural it won't last weeks like the ones from the store. But I can't tell you how long it'll stay fresh, my family devours it before it goes bad.
