The Best Whipped Buttercream

Do you try to make homemade icing, but are I pleased with your results? Does your icing turn out grainy, onceetly sweet, or too dense? Then try this recipe, the only buttercream I use for all my catering orders. It’s think and sweet, but not overpowderinly so. It has a light texture that melts in your mouth. And it is perfect for piping and writing!

Gather Ingredients

-1 pound powdered sugar
-3 sticks unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

Cut the butter into small chunks. Place in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat for one minute on low speed. We

Add the remaining ingredients to the butter. Beat on lowest speed for one minute. (Beware of a could of powdered sugar if you beat too fast)

Just Beat It

Now switch your mixer to high speed and beat for 5 minutes. You will see the icing get fluffier, smoother, and lighter in color. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula occasionally.
