The Best Valentine's Heart

The best valentine's heart.

The unique annual romantic holiday will soon come. It is customary on this day to send letters containing love confessions. What if, instead of a traditional gift, you give something special? Here is my suggestion. You can make such a heart yourself or buy it from this link.

Creating BMP File

I started by dimensioning the working area so that I could create a PCB with the right dimensions. Then I found a heart to use as a template and uploaded it to one of the more advanced graphics programs - Paint - to save as a 256-color BMP file. Now, this file can be uploaded to Eagle.

PCB Projecting

The next step was to design a schematic, which (as you probably guessed) I did in Eagle. In this project, I used RGB LEDs, a switch, and a CR2032 battery - that's it. These LEDs are special because when voltage is applied to them, they flash in different colors and patterns. They will be powered by a 3V battery, and the entire system can be turned on and off with the ON / OFF switch.

PCB Ordering

I went to PCBWay and clicked "Quote Now" and then "Quick Order PCB" and "Online Gerber Viewer", where I uploaded files for my board, so I could see what it would look like. I went back to the previous tab and clicked "Upload Gerber File", I chose my file and all parameters were loading themselves, I changed only the soldermask colour to blue and black. Then I clicked "Save To Card", provided shipping details and paid for the order. After two days the tile was sent, and after another two days, it was already on my desk.

Components Ordernig

Here are the elements that I used in my project:

1. RGB LEDs x8

2. 3v CR2032

3. Battery holder

4. Switch

Soldering

I put the flux, tin on one of the pads, put the diode in its place, soldered it first to the first pad, and then to the second pad, and repeated this action with the rest of the elements. Nothing easier!

That's All!

If you are reading this, I would like to thank you for your time. I strongly encourage you to make such a project, maybe slightly modify it or buy it from this link.
