Crochet Potholders are absolutely versatile. By using different combination and variety of Crochet Stitches, you can give them a lovely textured look. They are both decorative and functional

Potholders hotpads or trivets , whatever you call them , they are absolute essential for your kitchen. If you are looking for a simple crochet pattern that is perfect for your kitchen then this potholder design is it.Today am sharing the pattern for this Textured Crochet Square Potholder. You can easily make these hot pads bigger or smaller by adding or removing extra chains to your foundation and then crocheting more or fewer rows.

This pattern uses a combination of Single Crochet and Double Crochet Cluster stitch , worked in one stitch to create a pretty elegant textured pattern. These would make lovely gifts for housewarming or any other festive occasion.

Round 3:-

Skip 2 Stitches.

1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.

1 Double Crochet Cluster in the same stitch(i.e. in the same stitch of the Single Crochet.

**Usually while finishing the Double Crochet Cluster, you would Chain 1 and finish the stitch. Here while doing the cluster stitch do not Chain 1 at the end.

Repeat(Skip 2 , (1SC,1DC Cluster)- both in the same stitch)).

1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.

Chain 2 and turn.

To Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch:-

  1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again). You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  2. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
  3. Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
  4. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
