Testing Stains on Maple wood

If you have seen some of my Instructables, I've done some testing with different stains on various woods, today I wanted to see what different stains would look like on Maple lumber.

What was needed:

Lumber: Maple Wood

Several different stains

Paint brush

Rags or Paper Towels

Blue Painters tape

PreStain

I applied Minwax prestain to all the Maple wood pieces, before applying any stains. This will give a more uniform colors.

Allow Prestain to set for about 15 to 20 minutes, then wipe off excess

Steelwool & Vinegar

The first piece I stain with Steelwool & Vinegar Mix. Too make this mixture, add 000 Steelwool pieces to a jar with Vinegar in it. Allow this mixture to set for a few days, before brushing on.

Note you don't have to Prestain if using this mixture, but I done did already Prestain the pieces.

Note all the pieces was done with just one coat of stain, applying mutiple coats will look darker on some of the stains. Thanks for checking out this Instructable
