Test Taking Toolkit Organizer for School

Being fully prepared to take a test is critical for academic success. If you don't have all the tools you need to take a test they you will be busy stressing about your supplies instead of focusing on you test. I think its important for all your test taking materials to be in one place so I created the test taking toolkit where everything you need for a test is in one place.

You will need access to Fusion 360

You will need access to a 3d printer

You will need a ruler to measure the materials

Inspiration

Last week I had a math test. I had studied and was ready for the material. There was one problem, I forgot my supplies. This resulted in my frantically trying to find another student who has extra supplies. This resulted in me worrying about my supplies instead of focusing on the test. This inspired me to find a way to keep my test supplies in one place.

Criteria and Constraints

I decided the toolkit needed space for a ruler a calculator an eraser and multiple pencils or pens. i also needed it to fit in the empty front pocket in my backpack. This design fits both criteria so i decided on it.

Designing on Paper

I fist found an orientation of the calculator, ruler, pencils and eraser that would take up the least amount of space in my backpack. I then found the dimensions off all the materials and sketched them on graph paper with a scale of 1:1. I labeled the dimensions of everything and made sure the items had enough clearance with the walls of the organizer to fit and then finished my paper design.

Sketching Out Main Body in Fusion 360

I first sketched the main body with all the compartments. I also made sure that the box would fit in my backpack pocket. I made sure everything would fit and my dimensions were all correct with my design.

Designing the Main Body

First I extruded the edges of the main body to create the compartments that the materials would reside in and then I extruded the bottom so the materials wouldn't fall out. I also labeled every compartment so students will know what materials go where.

Creating the Lid

I needed to create a lid for the body so the materials don't fall out. I first sketched out the proper dimensions extruded it and then added the name of the design "test taking toolkit"

3d Modeling My Design With Fusion 360

I have only used fusion 360 moderately in the past so this was one of my first real designs using fusion 360. It was extremely intuitive and easy to use and hastened the design process.

Conclusions

In conclusion the organizer works well to hold all of my test taking tools. Now I will never repeat the fiasco that happened a few weeks ago with me forgetting my materials. I will print these for my friends in my math and engineering class who will need a organizer to hold their testing tools in one convenient spot.
