Termofilia
This portable cooler was designed with the objective of transporting vaccines for covid-19 and its development was based on being able to transport several units of containers in irregular cargo areas of an airplane.
The target population of the project is located in the Colombian Choco territory, an area characterized by high temperature and humidity. The device works with coolant packs and its hexagonal shape allows it to occupy irregular areas in order to be shipped together with other types of load.
Materials.
1. HDPE or acrylic sheet of 1x26.3x45 cm x6.
2. HDPE or acrylic sheet of 1x53x53cm x2.
3. HDPE or acrylic sheet of 1x9x26.3cm x6.
4. Polyurethane sheet of 5x26.3x43cm x6.
5. Polyurethane sheet of 2x53x45cm x1.
6. Cooling unit 20x2x10cm (max) x14.
7. Cork sheet of 1x100x100cm.
8. Screw handles x2.
Cutting of Parts of the Outer Casing.
Initially, if you do not have rectangular sheets (1) of the required size, you can buy larger ones and cut them to the stipulated size (1x26.3x45 cm), it is recommended to use laser cutting to obtain an adequate precision and not to have problems in the assembly.it is most likely that in this step unless you have a laser cutter in your house which we doubt it will be necessary to hire this service. In addition to this it will also be necessary to cut the square sheet (2) to the measurements shown in the previous figure obtaining a hexagonal shape, this will be the base of the device.
It should be noted that probably all the pieces in this will be laser cut so it is recommended that you have fully understood the parts to be obtained. For your convenience, the housing drawings are attached.

External Casing Assembly.
Normally in the place where you hire the cutting service with the attached plans also glue the parts for you, however if not, with an industrial glue proceed to glue the 6 rectangular sheets to each of the edges of the base obtaining a hexagonal prism as shown in the images.
Insulating Internal Structure of the Base
First you must put the insulation of the base for this will take the polyurethane sheet (5) and cut it again in a hexagonal shape with the measures shown in the image. After this with a non corrosive glue proceed to glue the polyurethane to the base of the prism of the previous step.
Insulating Internal Structure.
The next step is to add the insulating layer of the device, for this you must take the polyurethane sheets (4) and cut it in a trapezoidal shape to make it easier for all the sheets to fit together, you must cut them and get a figure with the measures shown, it is recommended to cut the polyurethane with a good quality scalpel.
Insulating Internal Structure.
Take the 6 sheets from the previous step and glue them on the inner walls of the hexagonal prism, then take the handles and screw them on two parallel outer walls. You should get something like what is shown in the picture above.
The next step will be to obtain the cork matrix or refrigerant units support, for this take the cork sheet (7) and cut 6 sheets of 16x43cm and other 6 of 9x43cm. Once you have these sheets glue them in the configuration shown in image 1, to be more sure of how you are gluing them you should get what is shown in image 2.

Once the cork matrix is obtained, insert it into the device and glue it to the internal vertices, it is important to leave a space of about 3cm between the polyurethane and the cork as shown in the image.
The Cover.
To obtain the cover again you must laser cut sheets with the measures of 3 and 2, glue them in the same way as the base hexagon in such a way that a larger hexagon will be left that must fit with the hexagon of the base casing. To have these pieces cut, the cover drawings are enclosed.

Refrigerant Units
Finally freeze the refrigerant units and insert 2 in the base and 2 in each wall of the hexagon, these refrigerant units should not exceed 0.5L and can be of any type.
