For the Make It Temporary concept, I chose to create a building that functions like a greenhouse but can also be used for events. This greenhouse can be utilized when cold or harsh weather limits the growth of food or other resources, allowing plants and crops to thrive. Additionally, the building can be used for events such as weddings.

Define the Problem

For Step 1, I needed to define the problem. I needed to make a project based off the requirements of the contest. I needed to do this, figure out my model, and make my model all before May 22nd 2025. For the requirements I needed to make a design of a temporary structure that can be momentarily use. Then after, it needed to be environmentally recycled, repurposed or reused after the use is finished.

Collecting Information

Step 2 was collecting information. To do this, I went onto Google and Pinterest and looked up ideas on what type of building I wanted to design or something similar to what I wanted to get ideas. When I was looking, I put down elements that I wanted to be included into my building which, could include glass walls to give the effect of a greenhouse and open roof windows to allow for the hot air to escape. Looking at these buildings, gave me ideas for how I wanted my final project to look like.

Brainstorming & Analyze Ideas

Step 3 was putting all the ideas I had for the building into a drawing to see all the different elements put together. I tested out different ways to put the elements all together in a way that would be effective but also fit nicely together. I had to think of ideas and elements that would work for both the greenhouse effect of the building but still make it a comfortable event space. To do this, I added windows on the top of the building that could pop open to allow airflow in the building. The windows on the top would allow for the hot air that gets trapped to escape at the highest point in the building. Another element was to add windows on the sides of the building to allow the breeze to enter the building.

Step 4 was when I put all my ideas into Revit and made the model of my building. During this process, I implemented the elements that I had researched and sketched and aimed to make them into a realistic representation. First, I started off by putting the topography down of the grass that my building was going to sit on. Next, I did the platform and built my walls up from there. After, I put the roof on and started to place my windows and doors down. Finally, I added finishing touches such as the stairs, railings, and the lighting inside the building. Using Revit allowed me to complete a building in a realistic form making it easier to visualize what it would really look like. The pictures include: The 3D version of the model, the first floor and second floor plan, the roof plan, and the site plan.

In step 6, I used ChatGPT to create a more realistic rendering of my building design. This process allowed for me to see my building with the intended background where the building would be placed, including the plants and with any interior elements like an event inside. This also allowed for me to see the building during the day and night. This offered a more accurate representation for what the building was intended to be used for and what it intended to appear as.
