@TechShop MP: Replace the Capton Tape on a Makerbot Replicator

If you have a Makerbot Replicator or use one you have inevitably needed to change the tape on the build plate. This is what I have found to be the easiest way to do it.

Remove the Old Tape

Peel up all the pieces of the old tape

Prepare the Tape, Cutter, and a Squeegee

I like to use a box cutter or exacto knife for cutting and trimming the tape. You will use the squeegee to apply the tape.

Cut the Tape to Size and Apply It

This time I only needed to replace the tape in the center of the build plate.
I cut a piece of tape a little longer than the plate itself.
Put the tape down on the far end of the build plate.
Use the squeegee to apply the tape and ensure there are no bubbles or wrinkles.
Support the tape with one hand while using the squeegee with the other hand.
Slowly work to the near side of the build plate.

Trim the Tape

With your cutter or knife trim the excess tape
