Tablescape Designer Dupe
I love the coastal, airy feel of the Serena & Lily
catalog! It always gives me so much inspiration! When I was thumbing through their spring catalog, I ripped this page out, knowing that I could re-create this look on my outdoor picnic table with what I already have! And I bet you can too! Read on to see how you can create this Serena & Lily Tablescape Dupe! It only took me about 10 minutes, and cost nothing!
Supplies
Neutral dishes
Woven placemats
Neutral cloth napkins
Wine glasses
Greenery or branches
Succulents or palm leaves
Begin With Table Runner or Greenery
My first step is always to add a table runner or greenery. I love to use natural greenery, whenever possible! However, I live in the desert and don’t have access to a lot of foraging, so I just trimmed these branches off our tree. It needed trimming anyway! Faux is always a good option as well, because then you have it forever.
Place Placemats
Next, add placemats can often be overlooked, but they are a necessity to
ground the dishes and create a beautiful tablescape! Placemats come in all shapes, sizes, textures, and colors. I prefer to use round ones as they take up less room.
Set Dishes on Placemats
Neutral, good quality dishes are a must and will last the trends for years to come. Opt for white or neutral earthen stoneware.
Embellish
This is the fun part! Embellish the bowls or plates with placecards, succulents, napkins with pretty napkin rings, the sky is the limit to how creative you can be! In this case, I used palm leaves from a big pack I bought on Amazon, paired with neutral napkins.
Place Beverage Glasses to the Right of the Dishes
Finally, don’t forget to add appropriate glasses for the beverage you are serving. Mason jars also make cute glasses in a casual or fun tablescape. Glasses don’t have to be fancy or expensive-I bought these wine glasses at the dollar store!
The key to creating any beautiful tablescape is having quality, neutral
basics like dishes, placemats, napkins, and glasses. Once you have the key staple items that are needed, the creativity can flow creating any kind of look!
