I liked that acrylic vase, but then not much and I never used it and I thought I'd give it a change to see if I'd end up using it.

The aim is to replicate the acrylic base, but changing the measurements so that it can fit the base. For this we take all possible measurements of the vase with the tape measure.

We measure with paper and pencil the acrylic vase. To get the truncated circular figure later with the clay cement.

And the three parallelepiped pieces

2 of measures 13.5 cm x 6.5 cm x 1cm

1 of 6 cm x 6.5 cm x 1 cm and a hole in the center of 1 cm in diameter.

Mix and stir in the following order:

Add the 500g of glue in a bowl and insert small pieces of napkin while stirring until the 20g of napkins are mixed in.

Mix well the powdered materials in another bowl the 400g of wheat flour and the 480g of cement.

Add the cement and flour mixture to the bowl with the glue and the napkins, and knead, knead well with the help of latex gloves, because this mixture could damage your hands thanks to the cement.

Add the 6-8 tablespoons of vinegar to the mixture and continue kneading until you get a clay-like consistency.

Store in a zip lock bag and keep in the fridge, it can be there for about two months.

To manipulate it and make our pieces, we will use oil, oily cream or petroleum jelly to put on our hands to facilitate the manipulation of the material.

I used the wooden rods, the silicone mat, the roller, the plastic tube, Vaseline, paper with the truncated circle, knife and the clay cement.

- Place the silicone mat on a flat surface.

- On each side of the mat we place wooden rods at a distance of about 20 cm from each other.

- We place in the center a part of clay cement and we use the roller to spread this clay along the space between the two rods.

- We would be left with a 1 cm thick sheet.

- On this clay sheet, place the paper with the truncated circle on the clay cement and cut with the knife all around the figure. Do the same with the other 3 rectangular pieces.

- Let these pieces dry and then assemble them with glue or plaster.

Note: I recommend using plaster, I used glue to see how it looked and then I thought it would look better to apply plaster to even it out and give it a better finish.

Paint and Glue the Base

Mix 3 parts of orange paint and 1 part of gold paint. This will give it an iridescent shine.

To assemble or glue the pieces, we have:

We place the pieces in place similar to de flower vase.

First place the pieces and glue with wood glue.

Allow to dry.

Note: I recommend using plaster, I used glue, to see how it looked and then I thought it would look better to apply plaster to match and give a better finish.

Take out the center with the vernier (8 cm x 5.3 cm) and mark a circle around the circumference of the wiring, for this, we will take the vernier and measure the wire of the lamp.

This measurement is the one we are going to take to make the circle to be drilled in the base of the acrylic vase.

We mark the circle.

We drill changing little by little the wick from smaller to bigger to open the circle (if you have confidence and experience, do it the way you prefer).

Install Tube

Measure the length of the base of the bulb socket (3.5 - 3.2 cm), compare it with the acrylic vase. Measure the same measurement on the tube, below the flange of the tube, and mark with a marker.

Take the cutter and cut there, Also cut the part above the flange of the tube, where the thread is.

We sand the cuts to make it smooth.

We center it. We can mark with a marker on the back side the circumference of the cylinder to take it as a guide and glue it inside the acrylic vase. Then we clean with alcohol and a napkin the marker.

Cut out two squares of at least 19 x 19 cm (the size of the truncated circle is 18 x 17 cm).

Make sure the acrylic is clean.

Remove the adhesive paper protector, and with the help of water and a spatula, stick the acrylic on the surface of the vase. Do it on both sides of the vase.

The same for the sides or if you prefer to leave it without anything. Cut the excess with precision.

Electrical Installation of Table Lamp

IUse a simple installation kit. Just put on and put screws and plug.
