TRIBAL MASK MAKING
I have made a cool tribal mask using air dry clay!
Sketch the Mask
It's a great idea to sketch the mask to understand proportions and to get enough details to start working with the clay.
Shaping Your Mask.
Crumple a lot of newspaper to make a mold.It should be stable and of the size of the mask.
Take handful of clay, place it on a canvas and roll it into a slab to form the base of the mask.Take the slab and place it on the mold.Cut out the desired shape.

Add Details and Features to the Mask
Add features like eyes, nose by rolling clay into a snake.
Make a slip to adhere pieces by adding small amount of water to clay and brushing this on both the pieces to be joined.
Gently press the pieces to make sure they are stuck.
Some interesting patterns can be made on the mask using buttons or forks before the clay dries.
The slip can also be used to fill the cracks ,incase they were formed while drying up.

Paint Your Mask.
Once dry, it's the time to paint the mask.
Paint the mask with acrylic paint for a beautiful finish.
