Traymon

A custom tray designed to attach to a walker, allowing people with limited mobility to carry their own meals safely and independently

Tools & Equipment

  1. Drill.
  2. Drill Bit 6 mm.
  3. Router (4 mm Radius knife).
  4. Sandpaper (180, 240, 320 grit).
  5. Screwdriver.
  6. Flute countersink (4 mm).
  7. Allen key 5 mm.

Materials & Supplies

  1. Birch plywood (12 mm & 16 mm)
  2. TPU filament
  3. Screws (M6 flat head Allen screw)*4
  4. Nuts (M6 hex nut)*4
  5. Clear varnish
  6. Brush

3D Printing & CNC Wood Cutting

Cutting the Wood

Cut 12 mm and 16 mm plywood according to the plans.

3D Printing TPU Parts

Print four different parts (one of them four times) using TPU filament, Use the provided STL files.

Smooth the Wood

Router & Sander

  1. Round the corners using a 4 mm radius router bit.
  2. Sand with 180, then 240, then 320 grit sandpaper.

Finishing the Legs

Mark & Drill

  1. Mark and drill holes in the legs (6 mm diameter).

Finishing the Wood

Varnish

  1. Apply clear varnish for protection and aesthetics.

  1. Attach the TPU plate, and cup.

  1. Attach the TPU Handle, Dowels and Pins.

  1. Place the nuts into the holes inside each leg (two per leg).
  2. Then secure the legs by driving the screws through the tray into the nuts.
