Cut 4 ropes 6.5' or 78" long
-
Make 2 marks equal distance on tennis ball
- Use craft knife to cut out circles on tennis ball
Feed Rope Thru Tennis Ball
- Feed the two 66" ropes thru tennis ball and center the ball on the ropes
Use Wire to Feed Additional Ropes Thru Tennis Ball
-
Take short piece of wire and fold in half, pinch together

Feed Wire Back Thru Holes on Tennis Ball
-
Feed wire back thru both holes on tennis ball
- Insert one 114" rope thru “U” shaped end of wire and gently pull wire back thru holes centering ball on rope
Split 4 Ropes Into 2 Groups of 2
-
Split 4 ropes on each side of tennis ball into 2 groups of 2 ropes each
-
Add two of the 78" ropes to the 2 groups just created allowing the additional ropes to span both groups
-
This should create 2 groups of 4 ropes each, wind up and rubber band upper group of 4 ropes (these later become the arms)
- Repeat on opposite side using last two 78" ropes leaving 8 ropes (4 on each side) loose from tennis ball
Begin Knot
-
Begin knot with 8 ropes, starting with 1 rope from opposite side, loop around thumb and over next 2nd rope
-
Next use 2nd rope to go over 1st rope and over 3rd rope
-
Then use 3rd rope to go over 2nd rope and over 4th rope
-
Next use 4th rope to go over 3rd rope and over 5th rope
-
Then use 5th rope to go over 4th rope and over 6th rope
-
Next use 6th rope to go over 5th rope and over 7th rope
-
Then use 7th rope to go over 6th rope and over 8th rope
-
Next use 8th rope to go over 7th rope and thru loop created on 1st rope
- Evenly tighten all ropes
Repeat Step 7
- Repeat step 7 until approximately 5” of finished knot is reached
Divide 8 Ropes
-
Divide 8 ropes into 2 groups of 4 ropes each (tese become legs)
- Bundle and rubber band one of the 2 groups leaving 4 ropes loose on one side (this becomes one leg)
Start Knot With 4 Ropes
-
Begin knot with 4 ropes by looping 1st rope around thumb and over 2nd rope
-
Take 2nd rope and go over 1st rope and over 3rd rope
-
Next take 3rd rope and go over 2nd rope and over 4th rope
-
Then take 4th rope and go over 3rd rope and thru loop created on 1st rope
- Evenly tighten all ropes
Repeat Step 10
- Repeat step 10 until approximately 6” of finished knot is reached
Repeat on Other 4 Ropes
- Undo opposite 4 ropes and repeat step 10 until 6” of finished knot is reached
Finished Legs
- You should now have 2 finished lengths of knots approximately 6” long creating legs
Undo Upper Bundled Group of 4
-
Undo one group of 4 ropes at tennis ball (this will become an arm)
-
Begin knot by looping 1st rope around thumb and over 2nd rope
-
Next using 2nd rope go over 1st rope and over 3rd rope
-
Then using 3rd rope go over 2nd rope and over 4th rope
-
Take 4th rope over 3rd rope and thru loop on 1st rope
- Evenly tighten all ropes
Repeat Step 14
- Repeat step 14 until approximately 6” of finished knot is reached creating arm
Undo Remaining Bundled 4 Ropes
- Repeat step 14 until approximately 6” of finished knot is reached creating second arm
