Syringe Drawing Aid - "Insulin Draw Ez"

The majority of people with diabetes who take insulin use an insulin syringe. Insulin is a potent hormone; only a small amount of liquid must be injected. Since the syringe is small, grasping the syringe, grasping the vial of insulin, and then drawing up the insulin requires fine motor manipulation. While many products on the market target the vial and the syringe, no current devices target the manipulation of the plunger to draw up the insulin. Additionally, even for people with diabetes without diabetic neuropathy, patients with difficulty grasping small objects or who have joint pain or stiffness may also benefit from an assistive device that helps manipulate the plunger part of an insulin syringe.

  • While holding the barrel, slide the plunger into the triangle cut out and remove the cap.
  • Place the needle into the insulin vile and draw your necessary dosage.
  • Remove the vile, slide your plunger out of the Draw-Ez, and administer the insulin.
