Surprise Text Gift Box

In this Instructable I made a small paper box that when the top graphic is pulled, it revels a secret text. You can use this as a gift for a Birthday, valentines day, etc.

To make this cute gift box you will need,

• A Pencil
• Two sheets of paper
• A ruler
• tape
• scissors
• markers or other coloring

Take one piece of paper and measure a 7cm by 7cm square. Do this five times. Then cut them out.

Place one of the five squares down and place the other four on each side of the first one. The use a piece of tape to connect them to the middle square. Then fold up two of the squares and tape the corner so the squares are connected. do this on every side so that you get a cube with one side missing.

Grab the second piece of paper and cut out a 5cm by 39cm rectangle. At one end draw a line from the bottom to 9cm up. At the other end make a 1.5cm gap. In-between those two lines, write your message. After you write your message fold the note strip accordion style from the 1.5cm line to the 9cm line (Where you wrote the note).

Tape the very end of the 9cm side to the bottom of the cube you made earlier, on the inside.

Draw a small picture to tape onto the 1.5cm line for the piece for the person to pull. If you would not like to draw you could always make this part simply the word "pull". The tape the picture to the 1.5cm line on the note.

Take the first piece of paper you used and cut out a 10.5cm by 10.5cm square. Use a ruler to measure 1.5cm from each edge of the square and draw the lines. Fold on all of the lines. There should be a small square in every corner of the big square, cut one side of the small squares to help fold and tape the lid together.

Fold the small square over onto the rectangle and tape so that it becomes the lid. The make a small cut about 6cm long across the top of the lid.

Pull the little picture through the slice in the lid so it is the only thing sticking out of the lid. Then tape the lid to the box so it can not be opened.

Now you are done, you can decorate the outside pf the box if wanted! Gift this to someone and watch as their face lights up when they read the note.
