I tried to make some toy cats out of surprise eggs and some stuff I had lying arround. To make it more interesting I decorated it with some feathers and filled it with rice so it is also making some noise.

Supplies

What you need:

  • Suprise eggs
  • Sisal
  • Feathers (I had some colored that fell from other cat toys)
  • Rice (or something to put inside the egg, that making noice)

Tools you need:

  • Hot glue
  • Cutterknife
  • Sissor
  • Folding rule

Prepare the Egg

First of all use the cutterknife to make a little hole at one side of the egg. It has to be big enough to thread in the sisal. (If you want to adore your toy with feathers you have to make a hole on the other side too)

Now measure a piece of the sisal with approx. 2 meters. (Depending on how thick your sisal is)

Thread in the sisal on one side and the feathers on the other. Use the hot glue to hold them in place.

Fill in the rice and close the egg.

Wrap Arround the Sisal

As the start is always the hardest part, try to glue the sisal as tight as possible in the middle of the egg. Then glue the sisal round by round over the egg.
I always tried to do one line of glue and then lay around the sisal. (Most times the glue is preassured out by the sisal so with one line of glue you possibly can lay two lines of sisal.

The Result
