SuperATV Can Am Commander 2.5" Lift Kit

This instructable is a step-by-step installation of the 2.5" Can Am Commander Lift Kit by SuperATV.  It is a simple process involving the installation of front and rear lift bracket to push the top of the shock arms further out from the frame to achieve a 2-3" lift increase.

Remove Front Shock From Mounting Bracket

The first step in the installation process is the removal of the upper shock mount bolt and the removal of the hose on one end to get it out of the way to install the new front shock mount bracket.

Install New Front Lift Bracket

Install the front lift bracket using M8x25mm hex head bolts, washers and nylon locknuts. Keep loose until entire bracket is installed.

Install Main Bracket and Upper Bracket Frame Bolts

Install factory hex head bolts, washers and nylon locknuts, through bracket center hole and upper bracket holes.

Install Shock Into New Lift Bracket

Once those three bolts are loosely installed, install the shock into the the new lift bracket using the M10x55mm long Hex head bolt, washer and lock nut.  Once shock is securely in place, go back and tighten all bolts securely and re-install air hose. Repeat the process on the other side.

Remove Shock From Rear Factory Shock Mount

The first step in the rear shock mount installation is the removal of the shock and hardware from the factory mount bracket.  Then install the clip nut onto the channel.

Install Rear Bracket

Install the rear lift bracket, first installing the lower mount hardware using the M8x 25mm Lg Hex head bolt.  Then install the Center mount hole hardware using the M10x65mm Lg Hex head bolt.

Install Bed Stop Through Lift Bracket

Once the lower and center hardware have been installed, re-install the bed stop through the new lift bracket and frame and tighten.

Install Rear Shock Into New Lift Bracket

Once the bed stop has been installed, install the shock into the new lift bracket using M10x65mm Lg hex head bolts, washer and lock nut.  Once the shock is installed, tighten ALL bolts and repeat the process on the other side.
