Super Secret Cash Stash

DSC_0259.JPG

Having cash on hand in case of an emergency is pretty important, and so is making sure it is secure so it is still there when you need it. Ye Ole toilet paper roll holder is one of the most frequently used household items, and at the same time, the least bothered. Especially if you home is anything like mine and countless others filled with people who all help use the toilet paper up, but avoid being the one one to use the last of it so they do not have to replace the roll, or they just "forget" to replace it when they do. Certainly a stranger or burglar is not going to come into your home and take the toilet paper off the holder to look inside "just in case." This makes for the perfect place to stash that extra or emergency cash.

Note: While I specifically mention cash in this instructable, any small item that you are wanting to keep hidden will work with this method, as long as it is small enough to fit inside the tube/coil. Other examples could be a small flash drive or diamond earrings. I would not suggest a necklace or the like, as it is likely to get tangled on the coil/spring.

Supplies

The supplies needed for this project are simple: a toilet paper roll holder and cash, or other small valuables.

Remove and Open Tube/holder

Remove the tp roll holder from its slots. Then pull apart the tube.

Insert Cash

Tightly roll cash to be stashed and slip into the coil. Cash will unroll to fill any excess space on its own.

Reassemble

Put the other end of the tube back on and replace the toilet paper. Then, return the whole thing back to the toilet paper holder.
