Super Easy Speed Bread Recipe

This is a very very easy and quick bread recipe.

The preparation time is about 5min and the time until you take out your finished bread from the oven is about 1h10min.

Really. It is that fast.

You just mix all the ingredients together, pour them into a baking mold and set them into the cold oven. Then you turn on the oven and wait for 1hour (maybe you need 5min more baking time, but that's already included in the calculation). Finished.

It is important that you don't preheat the oven, because the bread dough needs the warming up time of the oven to rise at least a little. If you would preheat the oven, this process couldn't take place because the outer crust would be baked immediately and the bread would not have a chance to rise.

Ingredients and Tools

Ingredients:

  • 450ml (1.875cup) lukewarm water
  • 2 pk dry yeast (or 40gr fresh yeast)
  • 500gr (17.6oz) whole wheat flour
  • 1,5 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp apple vinegar
  • 150gr (5.3oz) mixed seeds (I used sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and pine kernels)
  • optional: 25gr (0.9oz) mixed seeds as topping

Tools:

  • kitchen scale
  • mixing bowl
  • hand mixer
  • teaspoon
  • tablespoon
  • (silikon) baking mold

Preparing the Dough

  1. Fill 450ml of water into your mixing bowl and add the yeast, blend it until the yeast has dissolved.
  2. Add the whole flour in 3 parts to the yeast water and mix until you get a smooth dough.
  3. Add the 1,5 tsp of salt.
  4. Add the 2 tbsp of apple vinegar.
  5. Add the seeds and mix again until everything is well distributed.

  1. Fill the dough into your baking mold.
    • If you use a silicone baking mold you don't have to do anything more.
    • If you use a solid baking form you should butter and cover the inside with flour, so the bread won't stick.
  2. Add the remaining seeds as a topping on your dough.
  3. Set the baking mold in the middle of your oven.
  4. NOW set the oven to 200°C top and bottom heat and bake for 60min (60min from setting the bread to the oven, yes, there is really no pre-heating the oven)
  5. After 1hour of baking take the bread from the mold and knock on the bottom of the bread with your knuckles. If the bread sounds hollow, it is finished, otherwise, set it back in the oven for another 5min without the baking mold.
  6. Take it off and let it cool down.

This is the fastest bread recipe that I have.

I hope you enjoy the quick recipe and the short amount of time you need from the idea of the bread until taking it out of the oven. It is also very versatile since you could change the seeds inside from no seeds to all the others, for ex. flaxseed, sesame, poppy seeds, or many more.
