Supplies
Getting Started
You will need :
- Pencil
- Pin
- Three colors of polymer clay
*black and white clay for the eyes if you want to do them differently*
Portion Out Your Clay
We'll start by making four pieces of clay out of our two main colors, each about a little bigger than a quarter.
Body and Legs
Now slightly roll one ball (of the color you want the body to be) down on a flat surface, once it's shaped like a marshmallow roll one side of it thinner for the tail. On the other side of the body lump a tiny bit of clay to create a base for the neck. Then that brings us to the back legs, make two flat circles and two thick snake shapes. You can add texture using the pin for feet and claws to the snake shaped pieces of clay. To make the arms make an L shape and pinch one side than texture the other. Press the pinched side on the body. Once everything is attached smooth it out with your fingers or the back of the pin also works if you don't want as many finger prints on your project.
Head and Horns
For your dragons head, pinch one side of it to make a snout and then use your pin for detail. Simply roll out your horn color (like a thin snake), make one side pointy and smooth the dull side on your dragons head with your pin.
Wings and Texture
Congrats if you've made it this far! Continue by making two large thin triangles out of you wing color. Now add a snake of body color on two of the three edges. Smush one edge of your complete wing to the shoulder of your dragon, scrunch it up a little and attach other end to body and your tail to the wing. Last but not least put mini horns on the wings and use the back of your pin to smooth everything out.
Bake and Enjoy! :)
Bake your dragon at 275F for about 45 minutes (if you made it around the size of this one) Now you have an amazing creation of your own! But whats really important here is that you had fun making it, thank you so much for reading this!
