Sunglasses, Ties & Accessories Display/organizer
Hey there!, this is my first instructable.
I hope it may help you create something nice despite me not having taken pictures before doing it and english not being my native language.
Gather the Materials
For this project you will need:
- 1 old frame
- Nails
- Hammer
- Can of spray paint in desired color ( I used black)
- 2 electric guitar strings, any caliber will do although I found thin ones to be easier to handle, you may require more or less strings depending on the size of your frame.
I got my frame for free from a frame store which usually sells the old & used ones, see if you can get yourself such a deal.
Clean & Paint the Frame
Pretty self explanatory, remove all dust & dirt your frame may have and then proceed to paint using spray paint.
Stretch the Strings
If you are using guitar strings as I did you should stretch them a lot before using them, as any guitar player can tell you strings tend to keep stretching after a while, rendering in this case your project useless.
Nail & Strings
Use nails on the back of the frame to create posts to hold the guitar strings at the heights where you will be wishing to hang your stuff. One on one side and two on the other.
Use the ball ending of the string to insert it into itself and form a loop, then insert this loop through the nail you left alone on one side, stretch the string until the pair of nails and start wrapping it around them, finish with a small know there, the wrap you just made along with the pre-stretching will prevent your strings to get loose.
Hang!
Use it to hang and keep tidy and organized all your accessories, so far I've used it with sunglasses, toeclips, ties, bowties, necklaces and bracelets.
