Summative Circuit 555-Timer Traffic Light

circuit.png

This is a red blinking light circuit, designed to work somewhat like a traffic light circuit.

Supplies

Tools Needed:

  1. Wires
  2. 2 555 Timers
  3. LED
  4. Resistors(330 ohms , 560 ohms x 2, 100k ohms, and 47k ohms)
  5. 2 100 microfarads capacitors
  6. Battery & Battery Cap
  7. Breadboard

Starting to Build the Circuit

Place 555 Timer IC On Breadboard

Adding to 555 Timer

Capture.JPG2.JPG

Place wire from Pin 1 of the 555 Timer to negative rail.

Then, place wire from Pin 8 to positive rail.

After, place wire from Pin 4 to Pin 8.

Then, place wire from Pin 2 to Pin 6.

After, place 100k ohms resistor from Pin 3 to Pin 6.

Finally, place a capacitor from Pin 2 to the negative rail.

Second 555 Timer

Place another 555 Timer IC

Connect Pin 3 from the first timer to Pin 8 of the second timer.

Pin 1 of second 555 timer goes to negative rail via the wire.

Pin 2 to Pin 6

Place 47k ohms resistor from Pin 3 to Pin 6.

Pin 4 to positive rail via wire.

Finally, place the second capacitor to negative rail via the Pin 2 of the 555 timer.

Place the LED

Connect the wire from the anode of the LED to the positive rail.

Pin 3 of first timer to the 560 ohms resistor.

Place the resistor to the c41 hole.

Attaching Battery to Power Circuit
