Stuffed Flank Steak

Stuffed Flank Steaks

In this instructable, I will show you how to make stuffed flank steak.

Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:

2-2 1/2 lbs of flank steak

Provolone cheese (I used 9 slices, but you will need enough to cover the entire steak)

3 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp basil

1 tsp rubbed sage

2 tbsp parsley

1/2 tbsp garlic, minced

1/8 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp salt

toothpicks

butchers string

In a Medium Bowl

Mix together 2 tbsp olive oil and all of the seasonings except for the salt and pepper.

1/2 the Flank

Slice the flank steak in half.

Pound the Flank Steak

Place the flank steak in between to pieces of waxed paper and pound as thin as you can get it.

Season

Spread the seasonings evenly over the steak.

Top It With the Cheese

Layer the cheese over the top.

Prepping the Toothpicks

Soak the toothpicks in a bowl of water.

Roll It Up

Roll the flank steak as tight as you can.

Tie It Off

Starting in the middle and working your way out, tie the butcher's string around the steak.

Keep on With the Tying

Tie several more strings down the meat until it is completely secure.

Slice the Meat

Cut slices of the meat between the strings

Double Secure

Put a toothpick into each section of the slice meat.

Fry It Up!

Using the last of the olive oil, fry both sides of the meat for 2-3 minutes on each side and season both with the salt and pepper.

Now for the Second Cooking

Remove from the skillet and place on an oven safe dish.

Bake!

Bake in an oven that's preheated 400• for 10 minutes.

Don't Eat the String and Tooth Pick!

Remove the string and toothpick.
