String Light Decor

For the longest time I've been trying to figure out a way to incorporate string lights in my room. I decided to use string lights by my nightstand because it would be a great decor piece and would provide light as well!

Ok so this has been my problem area for the past 6 months. I just simply can't figure out what to place in this space. I was in need of some sort of decoration that fits nicely in this small area but also something that gives a bit of light to this dark corner.

I've been eyeing this little gem at Michael's for the past year or so, but i just couldn't get myself to spend $25 on this. It was just a matter of time until I found a 50% off coupon and finally bit the bullet in buy it. Don't get me wrong, I still think that paying $12.50 for this slab of distressed wood is a bit much, but I've come to terms with it :)

Thanks to Homdox, I got the perfect LED Fairy Starry String Lights for my project. The string lights come with a power plug and a remote control that allows you to control 10 brightness levels and 3 different modes. It is the best, trust! Here is the link for this product:

As per usual, I eyeballed where I wanted to hang my piece and hammered away. I tried my best to measure and make sure it was equal in distance from here to there, etc etc, but at the end I end up just going for it! I know that is not the best, so I definitely advise you not to do this :)

The main reason why decided to chose this piece was because I knew it would be a breeze to hang the string lights from it. The high quality copper string makes it easy to bend and shape any way or form you'd like. I didn't want the lights to come straight down, so besides bending it a bit by the knobs I just allowed the string lights to flow down naturally.

I loved the end result! It's a simple way of decorating this empty space and it's also functional because it provides the perfect night lighting when I'm winding down before going to sleep.
