Stove Top Raisin Bread
This is really just a variation on soda bread, but does not require an oven. Great for camping trips or when you need some bread fairly quickly.

What's Needed:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup flour ( i used 1/2 cup of the total flour as while wheat flour)
1 cup water
2 extra teaspoons water
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 pinch salt
1 handful or so of raisins
1 - 2 tsp cooking oil or lard.
Tools:
Stove or camp fire. (a gas stove may work better than an electric stove)
Sturdy large pan with lid. (i just used a Dutch oven)
Mixing bowl
Spoon
Measuring cup
Note: you could substitute buttermilk or (milk and a tablespoon of juice for the water). You could add a little sugar or a bit of reduced juice to make it sweeter. You could also make it savory by not adding raisins but adding herbs and vegetables of your choosing.

Get the Pan Going.
Fire up a burner or get the pan on a hot fire and add the oil.
Give the pan time to heat up.

Make the Batter:
Mix up all the ingredients except the water.
The add the one cup of water, but not the two extra teaspoons.
Stir into a goopy mess. Does not have to be perfect.

Get It in the Pan.
Pour the goopy mess (aka dough) in the pan and spread evenly.
Let the dough cook for a couple of minutes.
Add the two teaspoons of water around the edge of the dough.
Cover and let cook for about 6-7 minutes till the dough has firmed up and the bottom of the dough is brown.

Flip It.
After seven or so minutes and the bottom is brown, uncover the pan and flip over the bread dough.
Recover the pan and let sit for about six more minutes till the other side is brown.

Turn off the heat or remove from the camp fire.
Let cool for a bit.
Slice and eat up!!!
